Hello there K-Pop fans!
For my first post, I'd like to share how I became addicted to this wonderful music genre called K-Pop. It all started on Labor Day of last year. I was recuperating at home from a long road trip with my best friends. So I decided to binge-watch some YouTube clips. Suddenly, I stumbled upon a video of teens reacting to K-Pop. And little did I know...this group would come into my life.
BTS' music video for "Blood Sweat and Tears" happened to be featured in this clip. I was so captivated by the originality of this genre, and I thought to myself, "Oh my god...this looks awesome. Let me check it out." I watched the MV in its entirety...and I fell in love!! I thought that the choreography was so intricate...something that you don't see in today's pop music anymore. I moved right into the K-Pop world and had that song on repeat everyday. I became a full-fledged ARMY the next day. The next couple months led me to listening to more of BTS' songs, collecting a lot of merch, and most importantly getting to know these seven adorkable young men who interact with their fans on a regular basis.
Then November came around, which is usually the month of voting season for the MNet Asian Music Awards (MAMA). Around this time, I'd been getting into a couple more K-Pop groups and all of a sudden EXO piqued my curiosity with "Ko Ko Bop".
At first, I was hesitant about liking another group because there were a lot of fan wars happening, which is just pointless in my humble opinion. After seeking out some advice on this situation, I'd decided not to let the fan war B.S. affect me. I started getting into EXO, and I'm so happy I made that decision. From there, I started stanning a lot more groups and becoming multi-fandom. And right now, I stan about 10 groups (including BTS and EXO). I realized it was okay to listen to/support MORE than one group. It opens your mind to a whole plethora of talent that's out there.
K-Pop, for me, has made my life much more positive. It's given me a reason to wake up every morning because there is so much content that's out there for me to enjoy and go crazy over. A lot of groups that I'm a fan of never cease to wreck me on a regular basis and ruin my life. Not only that, but their music has made me feel very alive and free.
I now have a YouTube channel dedicated to K-Pop, and I'd been posting reaction videos as well as different challenges like the "Try Not to Laugh Challenge." This channel is something that I enjoy doing, and I'm more than excited to be posting more reaction videos where I'm...basically fangirling most of the time. You can find my channel right here:

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, and I'm looking forward to sharing some more of my thoughts/reviews/experiences with K-Pop.
Have a wonderful K-Poppin' day!
